Great question @34Essington

We can offer services where an engineer can be booked to move a meter in your home. If you’re only moving the meter within the remits of the back board it is currently sat on, this can be arranged and completed for free.

If you need to move it any further, there would be costs involved.

Moving the gas meter, specifically, outside of the back board remits, will cost £145 (including VAT).

If you’d like to arrange this, you just need to reach out to the Boost team via email via: hello@boostpower.co.uk. Or, you can reach out to the Boost team via their Facebook page or Twitter account.

Hope that helps,

No worries @34Essington

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 situation, this could be some time until we could guarantee a date. Normally, we’d be able to arrange a 17 working day appointment, but cannot say for certain what timescale you could be looking at, at the moment.

Let us know how you get on,

Hey @34Essington,

We’re now able to get engineers out to properties as lockdown restrictions ease, so we should be able to sort this out for you.

Just get in touch with us by giving us a call on 0330 102 7517, and an agent can get the info needed to get this one booked in for you.

I have the same problem, my smart meter is stuck in the middle of my wall and looks so bad we can't even decorate. Please help.

Thanks for posting @Collettemm - it’s strange how much I enjoy seeing everyone’s difference meter set ups.

Can I ask, where would you want the meter ideally? Up by the fuse box/consumer unit?

Hi, yes I would like it by the fuse box, I did ask the engineer when it was fitted a couple of years ago to put it up there but he said it had to go where he put it because I had a shelf up, I did offer to remove the shelf as it was not attached to the brackets but he said no

Thanks for confirming, @Collettemm

Usually you would have to arrange with your Distribution Network Operator (DNO) to visit, so they can move the service head (main fuse), but I don’t think this needs moving.

If not, it would just be our engineer that visits to move the meter. It would be a cost of £125 (£325 if it was a triple phase, which it isn’t).

Call us to get this booked in, and ask them about the DNO visit… I think they might still need to attend in the morning, before we visit in the afternoon of the same day: 0330 102 7517
