I originally asked for warm home discount for my electric but was wondering if I can change to my gas instead or are you able to split it to both electric & gas?

Hey @SuzieS and @liz Rycroft - I've moved your posts over here where you should be able to find the info you need about the WHD.
First of all, I knew nothing about the switch from Economy Energy! Anyway, back in December I was approved for Warm Home Discount and was told I would receive payment vouchers by 31st March...hence why I am only now finding out that I have been switched to BOOST as I haven't received any vouchers, so am just wondering what has happened and when I am likely to hear anything?

i received a winter fuel allowance payment of 140£ (Thank you) however, this has been applied to my electric when I explicitly opted for help with gas costs. Can this be changed? If so how? I was previously a economy energy customer


The WHD payment is usually for electricity because not every customer has a gas supply. However, if you've got smart meters the payment can be split.

Send the team a message on Facebook with your name, DoB, full address and email.

If you've got traditional meters, they won't be able to transfer the payment.
Has anyone else had problems receiving this government grant ?
I personally have had months of sending ,recorded delivery, the same documents, firstly, although signed for ,they had never been received . Second time they claimed I sent in the wrong documents, I informed them I have a spinal injury not a head injury, I am well aware which documents I sent. I had to threaten them with legal action, against the disabled, before I was taken seriously. Apparently they had lost all the documents sent even though they had all been signed for , so a manager asked me to send them in once again. She was very efficient and very pleasant, she managed to eventually sort this out after months of phone calls and registered letters. She rang me on the 22nd of February to inform me I would definitely be getting my warm home grant and it will be uploaded to my meter within a fortnight .
Guess what , no warm home grant .
I am now told to ring back after the 31st of March , by which time the warm home grant will be unavailable.Is it just me or do others have this problem ,I think they put it towards the xmas party

I was told in October 2018, I would be getting the warm home discount. Ive heard nothing since and still haven't received it. Can someone tell me why please?

Ive still had NOTHING after all this time & I got my letter 2 months or so ago!! I really can do without sitting in a queue on the phone for hours on end too as I’m hard of hearing 😔

I have been told ovo/ boost have already paid out for warm home discount. I'm still waiting is anybody else ?

Hi @All in good time - sorry I should have directed you to this topic about traditional prepayment meters. Check it out and if you're still having no luck getting the payment onto your meters, I'd advise calling the team on 0330 102 7517.

I have been in touch with boost by phone on several occasions about my application for w h d I was sent an email end of October to say I've been successful with my application waited for a couple of weeks it was applied to my payg smart meter so got back InTouch they told me then to get InTouch with DWP as it was in there hands I did this to be told it was nothing to do with them so once again I got InTouch with boost they told me to send supporting evidence I done this by email I then received a letter to say I needed more up to date evidence of my benefits I've done this sent the information they need spoke to boost by phone once again I have now had an email to say I've sent it to the wrong email address I need to send it to ovo I have now received an email of ovo to say they are looking into it could someone please tell me if I am with ovo or boost for my energy thanking you Paula Vaughan ..m

I’ve received my letter stating my WHD is ready (I’m using traditional prepayment meters) I have followed all the instructions where u have to load a small amount of cash on every day consecutively at the same PayPoint for at least 3/5 days we’ll im now in my 6th day & still nothing has been added to my gas meter????

I got a letter saying that I was entitled to winter warmer allowance due to low income. I've had nothing else. I've got the evidence to prove and provide but don't know what else to do.

I switched to Boost but applied for the warm home discount with my previous supplier, do I have to apply again with Boost?

No worries, @Gavin I will send you a PM to take down some account details and then get this Warm Home Discount added correctly.

As Boost is still part of the OVO family, you will still use the same OVO cards unless you top up online.
